Catching Up With So What Else!

For the month of June, we reached out to our partner So What Else to hear about how things went for them this year. So What Else is a donor and recipient partner of Community Food Rescue. In FY25 they donated almost 2.5 million pounds of food through our ChowMatch software. Read on to hear about their successes this year! 

Over 50,000 Food Appointments Served Since October—Thank You for Helping Us Feed Our Community!  

Since October 2024, So What Else has proudly served over 50,000 food appointments—each one representing a moment of dignity, relief, and care for families in our community. 

That’s more than just a number. Each appointment means a household walked away with 60 to 100 pounds of nourishing food—fresh produce, pantry staples, dairy, protein, and culturally familiar ingredients—enough to help sustain their family for the week ahead. 

That’s over 3 million pounds of food shared in just a few short months.  

Every visit to our distribution sites tells a story: of a parent putting dinner on the table, of neighbors helping neighbors, of kids going to bed full instead of hungry. We are constantly inspired by the resilience of our clients and the incredible generosity of our volunteers and partners who make this work possible.  

From pop-up pantries to mobile food distributions, our mission remains the same: to ensure no family is left behind when it comes to basic needs.  

As we move into summer, a season that often brings even more food insecurity for children and families, our work is far from over—but this milestone is one we wanted to pause and celebrate with you.  

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, partner organization, and supporter who has stood with us. Because of you, 50,000+ families had a place to turn to when it mattered most.  

Together, we’re not just handing out food—we’re building a stronger, more compassionate community.
